Currently, there are many discussions about how incorporating AI marks the start of humans being replaced. Till now, automation has taken over many low-skilled jobs. But can AI take it a step further? What about the jobs that require human creativity?

Discover how “creative” jobs will be affected with the rise of AI.

The reason “creative” has been mentioned this way is because creativity is required in some form in all jobs. However, this blog focuses on a field where it is a primary requirement, content writing.

Understand the Meaning of Creativity

Creativity comes in many forms, and limiting it solely to human beings would be incorrect.

Creativity of Humans

Humans can display creativity in many forms. More specifically, humans are supposed to be inbuilt with creativity, right? Yes, but it is displayed in different ways. It involves factors such as an individual’s personal experiences, their emotional capacity, and more.

Creativity of AI

AI models are developed from large volumes of data. They follow a pattern-based approach, i.e., they are designed to mimic the pattern they are fed. If the writings of J.R.R. Tolkien were taken and fed to an AI model, then the model’s writing style would match Tolkien’s.

Winner in Battle for Creativity

Humans display a higher sense of creativity compared to AI. Since AI models are developed by humans, thus they are limited to the inputs of the creator. They are limited to following patterns and lack a sense of genuine creativity.

Comparing Work Capacities

In a creative role, the objective is to deliver quality content at a quick pace.

Work Capacity of Humans

Humans work at a human pace. They deliver content based on deadlines that are reasonable but take more time. Additionally, we require frequent breaks during breaks to recharge and recover.

Work Capacity of AI

AI is able to produce content at a much quicker rate compared to human workers. The content even has reasonable design variations. However, the quality of content is on the lower side.

Their main advantage is the non-requirement of breaks, thus it can match the delivery of a large volume of content.

Winner in Battle for Work Capacity

Both AI and humans have their own set of benefits and drawbacks when it comes to work capabilities. Humans take the lead in terms of quality, while AI delivers strongly on quantity.

Closing Thoughts

Moving forward, it is clear that “creative” jobs are not truly replaceable by AI, at least in the near future. While it has incredible work capacity, it cannot fully replace its human counterparts.

Instead, playing a supporting role where it is used to enhance and complement human creativity is more ideal.
